Build a digital picture of each athlete’s skill
With 5-15 minutes per practice, you can build a digital picture of each athlete’s skill improvement. In just 5-15 minutes? Yes! After adding your roster, pick a test, and the app walks you through the rest.

Track skills not game results to get serious about technical development
It’s hard to communicate to developing athletes (and parents!) that games are the 2% and practice is the 98% – where the hard work happens. However, an athlete’s improvement should be measured in technical skill, not game record.
statUP simplifies a complicated process
Instead of building huge, soul-sucking spreadsheets and data entry to track improvement, statUP helps everyone focus the skills. As a team of coaches and technologists, we want to help you focus on what you do best: coaching.
How statUP Works

1. Athletes Take Tests

2. Earn Stats
Earn stats that matter. Skill stats that show individual improvement, not just game record.

3. Track Improvement
When you can measure it, you can improve it. statUP is so easy grandma can do it!
United Soccer Coaches is Developing Skill Tests

United Soccer Coaches is partnering with statUP to develop several skill tests. Ian Barker, the head of United Soccer Coaches coaching, is personally overseeing the project to introduce some skill testing.
United Soccer Coaches joins a long list of skill partners who are using statUP to power their ideas for practical technical development.

Skill tracking makes technical development into a fun game
What if your technical warm up and skill-foundation part of practice had scores and results? Athletes get competitive (and encouraging!). One statUP app user reviewed us in the app store and said:

Technical skill development becomes less of a chore when athletes are viewing it as a game. Skill tracking enables players and takes only a couple extra minutes for you to tap add team stats to statUP.
Three Ways Coaches use statUP
1. One Skill Per Practice – 5-15 minutes
Coaches search and select a test to run early in practice. The competitiveness and drive of being measured helps athletes care about improving, asking each other their scores, and getting motivated to even practice at home. Even better, they can take the same test at home to practice!
2. Benchmark and Review
Early in the season, some coaches spend a whole practice doing 5-8 skill tests to serve as a benchmark set of scores. Coaches will run a skill tournament at the end of the season with the same initial tests so athletes can showcase their improvement.

3. Technical Warm-up
Some statUP tests are “line-up-and-wait-your-turn” kinds of tests, like chipping or bending a ball. But many statUP tests are group tests that can be used during warm-up: six types of juggling, several dribbling moves, and physical tests.
Painless Parent Involvement
During a coaching season, parents want to know more about how their athlete is improving—but it’s difficult to communicate all that simply (and remember the exact numbers!).
Skill tracking quantifies the real skill improvement, and gives parents the language of first-touch, change-of-direction, and other key skills that help them engage with their developing soccer athlete.
statUP is a tool for what you’re already doing
statUP helps you coach. It doesn’t tell you how to coach.
statUP does not require you to adopt some kind of philosophy or methodology. Consider statUP something you use not something new to do. It’s a tool to make what you’re already doing even easier.
