STATUP PRIVACY POLICY
Last Modified: 27 Jul 2020
statUP takes your privacy seriously. Our policy is clear: we collect no personally identifiable information about you when you use the online software, services and mobile applications that we provide (collectively, “the statUP Platform”) unless you provide that information to us. Unless we have your authorization or are required to do so by law or other extraordinary circumstances, we will not share with any third party the personally identifiable information that we obtain from you. By using the statUP Platform, you agree that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy, and that you consent to its terms.
What This Privacy Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy covers our treatment of information we collect when you use the statUP Platform. This policy does not describe information collection policies on platforms and services not provided by statUP, including those linked to from any statUP website or application. It also does not cover information you may choose to share with other users of any statUP website.
The Information We Collect
One of the primary purposes of the statUP Platform is to identify, improve and promote individuals’ athletic endeavors and careers. Another major purpose of the statUP Platform is to collect, organize and track individual athletes’ statistics, including statistics about performance. The statUP Platform allows and encourages, and thereby collects, information about individual athletes both directly from those athletes and by means of third parties in relation to those athletes, including coaches, instructors, parents and others. This information includes name, birthdate, age, email address, address, physical characteristics (e.g., height, weight) and statistics relating to athletic performance and skill.
We do not collect any personally identifiable information about you other than that which you affirmatively choose to submit to us. From time to time we automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information when you use the statUP Platform, such as the IP address of your computer, the time and date of your visit, the pages that you access, and the number of times you return to that portion of the statUP Platform. This information is not used to identify you, but is used in the aggregate for statUP’s internal marketing and similar purposes. This process may involve the automatic placement of a small, removable text file (commonly referred to as a “cookie”) on your computer’s hard drive.
Information Collection and Use
Non-Personal Information.
The servers from which we host and provide the statUP Platform collect and record certain non-personal information about site visits. The non-personal information that we collect may include IP addresses, the type of operating system in use, the type of browser being used by the visitor, the number and frequency of visitors to different elements of the statUP Platform, and the site the visitor was on immediately before accessing the statUP Platform.
We may provide children access to elements of the statUP Platform which do not require them to provide any personal information. As they use these elements, we may collect certain non-personal information by installing small text files known as cookies. We use cookies for several purposes, such as to recognize visitors to the statUP Platform, to determine the number of unique visitors to the statUP Platform, to ascertain which pages they visit or features they use, and to conduct internal evaluations of the statUP Platform. We may associate information we collect via cookies with the personal information we collect from or about children who access the statUP Platform, which we explain in the “Personal Information” section of this Policy. We may use the combined information, for example, to personalize your child’s experience on the statUP Platform or to personalize marketing communications we may send to your child. We may also allow unaffiliated third parties to place cookies on the hard drives of users of the statUP Platform.
You are always free to set your browser to decline cookies, but in doing so your child may not be able to use certain features of the statUP Platform. The “help” segment of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to configure your browser to not accept new cookies, how to have the browser inform you when you receive a new cookie, and how to erase cookies from your hard drive.
We may also use web beacons to count page visits by our users, to access our cookies, and otherwise to improve your experience on the statUP Platform. Web beacons (also known as clear gifs) are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies. Email messages that we send may also use web beacons to let us know which e-mails the recipients have opened and acted upon, allowing us to gauge the effectiveness of our communications and marketing campaigns. If you would like to opt-out of these e-mails, please visit the settings in your profile within the statUP Platform. Web beacons also help us manage online advertising, and are provided by our ad management Service Providers. These files enable our ad management Service Providers to recognize a unique cookie on your Web browser, which in turn enables us to learn which advertisements bring visitors to the statUP Platform. The cookie was placed by us, or by another advertiser who works with a service provider. With both cookies and web beacons, the information that we collect and share is anonymous and not personally identifiable. It does not contain your name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address. Our advertising Service Providers also use anonymous information about users’ visits to this and other platforms to deliver advertisements online that may be of interest to those users.
Personal Information.
We do not make a child’s participation in any statUP Platform site activity contingent on that child’s disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in that activity. In order for any child to register on the statUP Platform, we may (as needed to provide the applicable features of the statUP Platform) collect the following information about your child:
- first name

- gender
- dominant hand/foot/eye
- team name

You may notify us of any changes in your personal information, or request that such information be removed from our records by e-mail to privacy@statup.com. Please be aware, however, that if you choose to have your personally identifiable information removed from our records, you will no longer be able to receive certain updated information from statUP, or participate in various functions of the statUP Platform.
We may disclose information about you to third parties if we have a good-faith belief that we are required to do so by law or legal process, to respond to legal claims, or to protect the rights, property or safety of statUP or others.
In the event that statUP or its business is sold, whether as part of a merger, acquisition, business restructuring or otherwise, and whether or not all of the assets or equity of statUP is subject to that transaction, we may disclose personal information collected about you to statUP’s successor in interest, whether that successor in interest is to the entire business of statUP or just to that portion of the statUP business responsible for the provision of the statUP Platform.
